Rioting Is Not Protesting, It’s Breaking the LAW

Amendment One of the U.S. Constitution

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or the press; or the right of the people to peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

One of the many videos that have been shared regarding the rioting due to George Floyd’s death showed someone with a tire iron bashing in the driver’s window of a woman that was stopped on the freeway. Another showing an elderly woman in a wheelchair being attacked and too many more to describe. Fires, beatings, vandalism, destruction, theft and on and on. There is absolutely nothing that has occurred or will occur in the future that justifies this kind of behavior. The first amendment of the U.S. Constitution calls for peaceful assembly and redress of grievances. There is nothing peaceful or lawful with these actions.

George Floyd’s death is a tragedy and should absolutely not have happened however but we must trust the justice system to prevail and allow the process to bring the proper outcome for the crime committed.

An Excuse

Those that are causing so much destruction only look for any excuse to do so. They aren’t expressing their outrage for what has happened, they are using it for an excuse to break the law. These people are behaving like animals. There is no good that comes out of this and if they think for one minute that everyone is going to roll over and take this and allow this to take over they have another thing coming.

America is Tired of the Ridiculousness

As Americans, we live in the greatest country of the world. It is not perfect but the freedoms we have far exceed anywhere else on the planet. Innocent people being victimized by these raging idiots vandalizing everything they come into contact with is inexcusable. We as Americans better wake up and make sure we all feel just that. That is it inexcusable.

Albert Einstein, “The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about .. “

We Must Take Our Country Back

2020 has been a year for the books no doubt, first covid-19 and now this. Our civil liberties have been trampled on in more ways than many even realize. We must take our country back and demand that our Constitutional rights and laws be respected and adhered to. Enough is enough and we must demand law and order. Everyone of these criminals should be locked up and charged with the crimes they have committed. They need to learn the meaning of consequences.

It works both ways

On one hand, peaceful assembly and protests are perfectly acceptable and necessary at times. The point is well made when people show up in the masses to make sure that our politicians know how they feel about a specific subject or issue. There is no need for violence. Our forefathers understood this and that it was needed in order to have a rounded perspective on issues.

On the other hand, we all have the right to be safe. This goes for everyone. Whether you are being arrested for an alleged crime or just traveling down the interstate or going to the store. We can not tolerate the extremism and should rule with an iron hand when it comes to this. Law enforcement agencies must demand ethical behavior from their deputies and the public. We have been cow-tailing far too long to people who cry discrimination in many forms and many agencies have taken a far too laid back approach in administering their duties. In turn, law abiding citizens are the ones being victimized by these criminals because our government has been reluctant to enforce the laws. Everyone is scared to death to do their job in fear of a law suit or otherwise. Order is required in order to thrive.

The Constitution must be respected and enforced and it starts at the local level. Emphasis needs to be given to “their duties”. It is law enforcement’s duty to enforce the law and protect the public.

Balance

We must find our balance, from the far left to the far right we teeter back and forth very seldom finding ourselves in the middle with a healthy appreciation of the subject matter. It is really hard to fathom as you watch the news with all of the bantering back and forth. It is a circus and not productive. Imagine a world where common sense was demonstrated and demanded and ignorance was not tolerated. How more productive and better off everyone would be. If the extremists were capable of understanding that concept on each side we would live in a very different world.
